80 Year old Mooshim – Digging Roots

I’m an eighty year old man I’ve walked as straight as I can
And in another twenty years I’ll be hundred
I’ve worked hard on my land and I’m proud of where I stand
And I’m calm with the stars that I live under

I’ve seen many people fall seen many grow tall
And I’ve got a heart that will never surrender
I’m an eighty year old man I’ve walked as straight as I can
And in another eighty years I’ll be be one-sixty

I’ve got many sons and daughters who all look like one another
And I’m glad to say they’re all Anishinabe
And with all my grandchildren I’ve built a generation
And lost count ‘cause there’s as many h as a tiny nation

I’m an elder in this clan and a mighty mighty man
And I can shoot a moose and a deer with just one bullet

I’m an eighty year old man I’ve walked as straight as I can
And I’m glad to say I’m Anishinabe
I’m an eighty year old man I’ve walked as straight as I can
And I’m glad to say I still look like sixty

Well times have changed some have been strange
But there is something I always remember
Wherever I go I will always know

I’m an eighty year old man I’ve walked as straight as I can
I’m an eighty year old man
I’m an eighty year old man I’ve walked as straight as I can
And wherever I go I will alwys know
That I’m loved.
